There's that poll going around like "why did you join Tumblr?" and the options are like "aesthetic blogs" / "shitposting" / "fandom"

And it just bugs me. Because look, I'm not saying this is definitely why I joined, but when I first found out about Tumblr around 2010-2011, it was in an IRC channel of (people who all thought they were) men, who had organized because of their love of imageboards, like danbooru and 4chan.

Why exactly do you think they were interested in Tumblr?

I'm just saying, to pretend that no one ever joined Tumblr for the pornography is an ahistorical claim. And this site had porn for longer (2007-2018) than it's been banned (2018-today). Don't do the staff's job for them by pretending otherwise.
